Conan the Invincible by Robert Jordan Dragonsworn Send a noteboard - 10/10/2009 08:24:37 PM
Guess if Conan wins at the end of the novel.

I'll confess I've not read any other Conan novels except Jordans. Had it not been for my interst in his novels I'd probably never read any.

Well, Conan the Invincible is a straight forward swords & sorcery novel in the style of Robert E. Howard. Therefore we see alot of action involving evil wizards, lizard men, and bandits. Conan battles them in a flurry of slit throats and split sculls.

There's also loads of women in Jordans conan novels. And the women are all of one kind, namely mostly virgins with supple round breasts and gorgeous figures. Invincible is no different in this regard. When it comes to women, Conan get what he wants. Invincible is not without some sex for Conan and the women he encounters.

The plot is very straight forward, an evil wizard plans to unleash his might upon the world with the help of an evil god with an appetite for human souls, which the evil wizard must supply at a steady rate.

Conan encounters a beautiful redhead female bandit named Karela. He follows them in pursuit of the evil wizard. At the same time Conan himself is pursued by another evil wizard who wants Conan dead. Huge confrontation at hand.

If you've read The Wheel of Time, you'll feel right at home. This is definately Jordans writing, make no mistake. So if you enjoy Jordan you should take a look at this.

In all its simplicity, this is an enjoyable read for all of you with a liking to sword & sorcery and heroic fantasy in general.

"I didn't have much to say to anybody but kept to myself and my books. With my eyes closed, I would touch a familiar book and draw it's fragrance deep inside me. This was enough to make me happy."
