You hit the nail on the head. Haggard Send a noteboard - 31/08/2009 09:34:54 PM
The body hiding isn't as difficult as most people make it out to be. I mean, just head out into the woods and drop them off. Oh, and use gloves.

The other option is what I do. If it's truly awful, and I can't make it all the way through (I made it half way through the second Eragon book) then I just tell the person that I just couldn't get into it, and it wasn't for me. In fact, when you tell them, bring a book along that's actually good, and maybe try the same thing on them. Who knows, maybe they'll suddenly become enlightened just by reading one really GOOD book.

Eragon was....well...If Lord of the rings had sweaty, nasty sex with Star Wars while Anne McCaffrey watched.....there ya go. Not the worst book ever, just so incredibly unoriginal that it was difficult to keep going and I eventually decided to just go watch Star Wars, and read a few key chapters from LOTR and Dragonriders of Pern.

What I read of Eragon wasn't complete garbage, but it was completely unoriginal.

Oh, and thanks. I now have a disturbing image of Gollum and an Ewok on the back of a dragon.

I'm drinkin' some George Jones,

Haggard's easin' my misery
and Waylon's keepin' me from home
Hank's givin' me those high times-
Cash is gonna sing it low
I'm here gettin' wasted-
just like my country heroes
