I got the second one in a giveaway, but now I have to try and track down the first. If everyone here says that the books are groundbreaking and the author is the Next Big Thing, then I might just go ahead and buy the first one. But if it's bad, or only so-so, then I'll have to try a inter-library-loan thing.

Book one is A Darkness Forged in Fire

Book two is The Light of Burning Shadows


I stopped after a couple chapters. It just didn't interest me all that much.
