Dear readers, I apologize for my long sabbatical in posting my offerings of free books. It seems I have covered most of the easy-to-find books, and it has taken me much longer than I anticipated in coming up with quality books. After all, I would never dare to waste your precious time with anything less than the most sterling of offers.
This week, I come bearing news of eight free ebooks, and an e-graphic novel for your perusal. What's more, is that the eight ebooks have been conveniently converted into whatever format you could so desire for the easiest reading.
Cory Doctorow has been speaking out for years against the DRM-laden world of ebooks. Most publishers say that when someone buys an ebook, he or she only gets the license to read the book, but s/he doesn't actually own it. Cory Doctorow says that when you buy a book, physical or electronic, you own that book, and can do with it as you will.
Because of this belief, he has made most of the books he's written available for free download in a variety of formats. There are five science fiction novels, two collections of fictional short stories, a graphic novel, and a nonfiction collection of his essays, articles, and polemics. The only cost to you is the time needed to download everything; because each book has its own website, and its own section for downloading, I've only linked to the main page for his novels. But still, nine books for the price of your time is a pretty good deal.
EDIT: grammar corrections.
Happy Reading!
