Horror Ouranid Send a noteboard - 08/12/2009 03:07:00 PM
I've read and not enjoyed:

Stephen King

Dean Koontz

Clive Barker

I've read and enjoyed:

Mark Z. Danielewski, House of Leaves

H. P. Lovecraft, The Music of Erich Zann(the squid stuff too, but I enjoyed this the most)

John Ajvide Lindqvist, Let the Right One In, Paper Walls

Dan Simmons, Summer of Night

[EDIT]Mostly I'm looking for tension above gore, though I also have a thing for the uncomfortably weird, as MiƩville or Dali. The one element of horror that affects me the most is the dissolution of the body, as being digsted by an organic house or a predatory oil spill in a lake, or a planet infested with ancient math seeking to program everything into beautiful blue feathers.

Thanks:)

*MySmiley*
Indeed, I marry them in their unlawful bed, with an open heart I affirm the true right of any man and woman to their dark slobbering nights which are rare enough, and against which too many laws conspire.
