If you are anything like me, this time of year you tend to get some holiday cash/gift cards to spend how you want. Some of that money always goes for some new books. The question then is, WHAT should I get? Is there a new book by a favorite author coming out... or new book with a lot of buzz? Is there an author that I really should be reading but don't know about? When it comes to gift cards/cash as a gift, I often will take a chance or two on a new author or series that I might not with "my own" money.

So, why did I make this post? Well, I hope for two things. What books did you ask for/hope to get as a holiday present (or hope to buy with the gift cards)? If you are looking for something new but don't have any specific ideas, post about what you're looking for (style, like another book/author, themes, etc.), and I and maybe some others will try to come up with a few suggestions (including a summary or reason why it was suggested).
