I heard that there's this new author in town doing this shindig with the new WoT books. And I figure I ought to maybe check him out in his own element before I check him out in Jordan's.
Checking out of up-and-coming authors aside, I'm torn between Elantris and Mistborn as my first reading of Sanderson. Suggestions?

I haven't read the rest of Mistborn so he may have improved there.

Mistborn is a better story, but do you want to read a series or a stand-alone? *NM*

"Neither" is the best recommendation so far, but I enjoyed Elantris more.

Mistborn. I'm honestly surprised at everyone that seems to not like his stuff. *NM*

Mistborn or Warbreaker. Elantris was neat, but I like those two better. All three

Warbreaker is better as a standalone. Mistborn if you want a series.
