I've been thinking of getting that book, and since I neither have a kindly literature professor to ask for help, nor the desire to do research on my own, is there anyone who knows which translation is best? Reading in the original Russian is out of the question of course... It would take me all year. 
I will let you know which translation my friend gets me.
