I <3 my Kindle. The Shrike Send a noteboard - 08/01/2010 03:55:11 PM
Truly, the aughts were good for portability and space. iPod, laptop computer, and Kindle . . . and even cell phone. Freed up huge amounts of space at home now that I donated all my books to a local library and donated my bookshelves to the boyfriend Also threw out all my CDs a long time ago, and don't have a clunky screen/tower on my desk. Not since 2005. And not even a landline. Haven't had one of those since 2005 as well. And happily no wires. Love the wifi. And then no more VCR and no more tapes now that there is a DVR. 2003 was a good year for that.

I am interested to see how these small upstarts can compete. Their hardware is great . . . but one needs to purchase eBooks too. There was a good opinion article at gizmodo yesterday about this that I am linking.
