I do think that books in the literary canon have at times been as influential as non-fiction books. However, the tendency is to think about technological advancements or innovations in ideas when we think about books that "changed the world".

I do understand that Germany wanted to restrict Mein Kampf because of all the mass murder in the death camps, but as it is already legal to own it, the issue of the copyright seems a bit silly.
