As fascinating as it may be, I think that the current state of Africa is very depressing all around. People used to say Kenya was better, but then they had all that election-related violence.

There are some countries that aren't doing so badly, in West-Africa, in the south, and here and there inbetween - and in a number of the rest, at least things are better than before (Angola comes to mind).
