Starting a good 3-4 months before it was fully done, GRRM gave very similar-sounding updates for AFFC, reporting on its MS page size, noting when major POV chapters or character arcs were rounded off and so on. It appears he is doing something similar for ADWD.
I would not expect a completion announcment imminently (say within the next few days or weeks), but certainly I get the impression we are, at the most, no more than a few months away from such an announcement. In fact, given the previous three books were completed in May of their respective years, I wouldn't be surprised if we did get a completion announcement in May 2010. Although if it came sooner, that would be welcome
