His historic fiction is pretty enjoyable, and all but one or two of his books I believe deal with Rome. My favorites of his are The Last King which is about Mithridates' wars with Rome, Gods and Legions which deals with the life of Julian the Apostate, and The Ten Thousand which follows Xenophon and his exploits in Persia.
Can anyone recommend good Roman historical novels?
