I think there are so many good books out there that I need to read 50 a year to have a chance to read so many of them. It does remind me to keep reading!
Also, I tend to be obsessive about lists, and I think maybe that's the main reason I'm weird about it.

When you get to nitpicking in this manner, it's not quite as much about the books anymore but the number. Make up your own mind about it, and keep it as rule for the future.

If you want to have a challenge to keep you reading, that's fine. but it's not about the challenge, is it? it's not a race. You'll get there.

Enjoy!
