It's pretty much the nature of the series that death tends to come about in a way that is least pretty or high-falutin, as possible.
For all of Catelyn's heroic actions throughout the series, she was killed in a kick, but very brutal manner, and then had her corpse dumped into a river.
This really isn't a series for people looking for heroes, IMHO.
