Died? Meh. The animorphs series is absolutely chock full of times when one or all of the characters should have died. They're saved by a wide variety of deus ex machina, introduced seemingly at will. All powerful beings, time travel, dreams, you name it. You can believe they died if you want (that was the end, so there's no way of saying you're not right ), but it seems unlikely to me. The animorphs have a thing for unlikely survival.
