Thanks :D. I think i might get the second book to give it a try. I also just realized that the book was published in the 80's i think for that time period it is a pretty cool concept

He gets less whiney, yes. I like this series a lot. Others around here have said they're not big fans, but I read this when I was about 15 and was really impressed with the concept of the anti-hero. I don't know that I would go out and buy them, but if you can get them from the library or somewhere else, I would go that route first. Good luck :)
