It wasn't clear to me in the article, since they reference coriander as well, but seemed pretty focused on the leaves (which as you say, we don't call coriander). But since a New Zealander and Oxford were thrown into the mix, I thought they must be using the two words interchangeably, even though it seemed to have an American focus and was published in the NYT.

Or I could just be overthinking things
