It makes me wonder about the common advice to get a desktop instead of a laptop because they are upgradeable. Granted, I could upgrade my desktop now; but I never needed to before; and at this point it seems like I might as cheaply get a new or recent computer anyway. I guess the advice only applies to gamers or something.
We spend ridiculous amounts of money to keep our computers up to date, as though they're on life support from the moment we buy them. But there are some games that are just better on PC. Unfortunately, some of my favourite PC games are so old that I can't play them even in compatibility mode because my processor is too new.
