I Kinda Figured, but Why Does 7 Conflict with Base 10 So Much?

For any explanation beyond that, I want a more formal definition of "complex" pattern.
I kinda got the gist of what you were saying, but actually trying to follow most those sentences made my head hurt.

It certainly seems to, at least; like I say, it's even prime. And sorry 'bout that; I kinda figured the language would be jarring, too, but wasn't sure how to prevent it. By "complex" I simply meant it seems odd that a single digit would yield a SIX digit repeating decimal as its reciprocal. All the rest either terminate or repeat after one digit (except 1/6, and even it terminates after two digits. ) There has to be a reason, I just can't see it.
While we're at it, how are things? Been a while, but hope you're well. Still get to Skype? There's actually a halfway decent chat there if you're interested; it's not quite the same as wotmanias (for one thing, you can't sheep anyone
) but it's not too bad, and let's people catch up in real time. Also, I'm pretty sure I still owe you a shirt (or something else, if you prefer) 'cos your help was invaluable in getting them into what I think was pretty sharp form. Without you and nossy I'd have been left with considerable egg on my face, and it seems a fitting final tribute to the site, so my appreciation runs pretty deep. Anyway, good to hear from you again.

Number theory holds a concept called "cyclic numbers."

Number THEORY is great fun, but too many folks make math too tedious, I'm afraid.
