i'd like to have seen defoe come on and joe cole play too. it made sense to play milner down that right cos johnson is a horrible defensive full back and milner works hard, obviously it didn't work out tonight, but it's a sound tactic. i think milner's class
swp is a waste of space, got nothing about and lennon would be better as an impact player. hoping barry will be fit soon so we don't have to continue the age old "why can't gerrard and lampard play together?"
either that or play gerrard off rooney in a sort of 4-4-1-1 like gerrard did with torres most successfully in the 08/09 season.
either way it's happened just got to get behind them and look on to the next match where we should smash algeria (1-0 obviously) and take some confidence ahead of the slovenia game

Argh! We so should have won that game. Not because Robert Green is a muppet, cause his shocking howler was equalised by his awesome save against Altidore, but because we outplayed USA. They were good, but we did play better. Our passing was crisp, we made quite a few chances and were strong in defence.
