He hasn't had any negative results, although your eyes still degrade with age as eyes do (so he can see fine still, but he needs reading glasses).
Yup. Everyone gets reading glasses sooner or later. They told me I would eventually need them and that it has somethign entirely different to do with the eye (muscles I think?) and hat messing with the lens does nothing for it.
