However, I also have to explain to relatives (i.e., people I can't just say "fuck off" to) that I don't like turkey every year and listen to them bitch and moan about how it's not Thanksgiving without a turkey, and I also don't like the way people seem to think the holiday gives them an excuse to try to keep eating and eating and eating.

I guess the best way to explain it is to say that I enjoy the actual meal because I control portion size and don't eat the same crap everyone else eats. I don't enjoy the "traditional Thanksgiving", though.
