Anyone up to talk about music? Quick and easy:
Do you have a favorite band / genre that you listen to?
Mno. Well, yes. I listen to a LOT of jazz and classical music, but other than that I don't go so much by genre as by individual artists/bands.
What are you listening to lately?
Benny Goodman, Thelonious Monk, Tom Waits and The Clash.
Why should others listen to it?
Because it's good?
In form a of a response:
I'm kind of a metal head, but listen to a bit of the lighter stuff too. Not one particular favorite band.
Metal is one of the few (well, I say few ... when I think about it, there are quite a few) genres I can't get into.
I do have some classical in the mix, because its relaxing. I just got one of those catch all classical mix CD's a long while back. My wife LOVES the Clash. I have enjoyed the songs I've heard with her and of course the popular ones (London Calling, etc)
The Clash is excellent. I discovered them when I was 16, and I haven't stopped listening to them in the 12 years since then.
I feel the way you do about metal about Jazz though. I just can't get there. Country and *most* R&B are not up my alley either.
But jazz has such a wide range of widely different music. It is not all New Orleans style happy jazz. There is crazy stuff in there. I like most of it, but I am also acutely aware that it is something which does not really fit under one heading.

I do. It's more straight rock than they used to be, but it's good.
