I've been a user at more than I can remember, the owner of several, and moderator at many. Hyperlinks have never been a problem at any of them. Spammers occasionally are, but that's more to do with automation of bots, which wouldn't really occur for our custom system. Honestly I don't even see what problem hyperlinks could possibly cause. They're no different from a copy/paste style link, like what we use here, except more streamlined and less of a pain in the ass.
