I bet he'd be pretty out of shape if someone informed him that his own religion (assuming he is christian) started out as a distinctly Jewish sect that grew in a type of mystery cult via Paul's theology. He probably just thinks it sprung up divinely into one who entity with all its doctrines and practices in place by divine decree after the death and resurrection of Jesus.
