Did fear that the other replies would ruin your reply prevent you from actually reading them?
When I looked at the replies above mine they all pretty much said the same sort of thing about how it was close to the truth. I'll admit I didn't delve into the long thread that started with the link issues because I thought it didn't apply.
I'll also admit that I haven't checked what else has been said, but that's because it wasn't said at the time I wrote my post. Up to that point, it looked like most people were generalizing all the people who didn't support the muslim community center.
It's nothing against your position, just that there actually are real people like the person in the Onion, and, in my experience, they are not limited to living in one country or supporting one political ideology.
