It's clever and sounds well-suited. Since you're so creative, it might be nice to include with the invitations a pretty good list of ideas for themes (and for at least a few of them give examples of what you might put in that box), or she's liable to get 17 boxes with a DVD and bag of microwave popcorn. :P


That is exactly what I was going to say :D

Not everyone is creative or has the time to put into this kind of stuff, so the easier you make it on them the more fun everyone will have. And those who are clever/want to go their own way will certainly do that.


To be helpful, I'll give you one right here.

A bag of carnaroli risotto rice, a jar of dried porcini, two tall candles and a (good!) recipe for risotto. Try Jamie Oliver for that, his risotto is great.

On a similar food theme, jars of sundried tomatoes, vacum-packed prosciutto or serrano ham, chorizo, jars of stuffed peppers and olives, artichokes etc. in a picnic basket would be lovely.
