You see, I took her point to be that it was outdated to assume that because someone was black then they should like a genre of music. That was my reaction to reading your post anyway.

Outdated? It is in fact mandatory. Or else your black card will be taken away. Well, not yours.


That is lucky, since I have no idea how I'd get one to lose. All the same, I know a fair number of black people and the majority prefer other genres of music. Though of course most of them are not African-American. Still though, it just seems to me like assuming you are into ironing, darning and pick fluffy things based on your gender - very outdated.

Of course that doesn't mean she doesn't like it... just that it seems an outdated assumption that she should:P
