And, it's not like even the garish ones are up for months. I assure you that for everyone person annoyed by them, there are thousands who are pleased. I know when I was a kid, I used to love driving around with my parents when I was a kid and seeing all the different lights and displays people had put up. People should pull down the shade or curtain (which they usually have down in the Winter anyway) and get over themselves. If people are kept awake by them, then they need to move to the country where there are no streetlights, either, and then pull the pea out from under their dozen mattresses.
