Jamie and his girl friend were considered to be experienced kayakers who were often seen together on the Norwalk River. In fact, they were seen by a friend out earlier on Friday. So, a freak tragedy and my initial thoughts were off-base.

The worst part about this is that with his body still not recovered, my aunt still has hope. She knows it's illogical but can't help wondering if he's unconscious somewhere or wandering around not knowing who or where he is. I hope for her sake that they find him.
