The performers should be thanking you for having the parts done so early and not a month or two weeks a head of time.

Also, some composers I know bitch when they give interesting parts to all the performers then the players complain because it's so hard. But then I say that if you aren't familiar with the instruments technique and range that you're writing for. . .
