The touch pad is a bit slow, but it's never detracted from the performance for me

I've had some issues with maneuvering, but I don't think it's due to the NOOK itself, and more my fingers being used to mashing keys and not little delicate touch screens
Really, the only touch screens I use are my NOOK and the self-check out machines at the grocer Overall, I've never been frustrated or irritated with the machine, even when it's not running perfectly.

Kindle is all DRM. For that reason, I'm wary.

unless you're into uncommon titles and textbooks, I don't see why one needs Amazon's market.

Is the type pad extra slow? Or is it just as good as the average touchscreen?

May I ask why the Sony Reader isn't under consideration?
