Sad. I watched something on TV the other day - when asked, most chefs say that if they were to choose their "last meal," it would to be an old recipe a mother, grandmother, etc used to make. They all had specific dishes, but only some of them knew how to make that dish. They discussed the fact that our evolving culture is losing that, given that cooking traditional meals (and/or teaching children how to cook specific dishes) is fading.
