Also, my wife has an iPad I bought her. Stick with the iPad. If you must have 3G internet access everywhere, get the bundle that Verizon is selling with the MiFi included. I'm not impressed by the GalaxyTAB--at least not at $599.
If you're looking for an eReader, neither is great at that. You're better off with a dedicated eReader like the Kindle3 or the NOOK (not color). I have the NOOK and love it, but the Kindle is slightly better as a device.
