I thought the spot of "browser that is possibly better than Firefox but definitely isn't worth the trouble of switching" had been taken by Chrome years ago.
I've used IE, FF, Chrome, and Safari, and I have to say, Opera was the fastest browser by quite a bit. Unfortunately, it would have some trouble loading some websites (for work), so it was a bit of a hassle to keep switching browsers all the time. But for general browsing, I would say it is the fastest of the ones I listed.

You know, it's funny... I work on laptops every day and I never encounter one with Opera on it.

I never warmed to that sort of thing. I prefer my rss feeds in a browser. *NM*
