1. I generally root against America (my country) in sporting events. Kind of foolish, downright silly to be honest. I usually choose obscure countries to root for instead.

2. The Miami Dolphins are my favorite sport team, not because of Dan Marino, Don Shula, the (still only) undefeated season that ended with a Super Bowl victory, etc ... I root for the Dolphins simply because the dolphin was my favorite animal when I was a wee one. (I had maybe 5 Dolphin stuffed animals, I still have several of glass dolphins, some pewter ones, a dolphin bottle opener ... )

3. Secretly, I really don't like Jazz. I went to a 'jazz' school, (Berklee College of Music), and I'm a musician, there's a whole PC thing, everyone who studies music is supposed to like and respect Jazz music. I respect it sure, but I think it sucks to listen to. Frankly, I'd rather listen to country or blue grass.

4. I recently read through a collection of 100 English Folk Songs collected in the early 20th century. It was really fun, several of the songs were used by my favorite composers (Holst and Vaughan Williams) in their compositions. I'm going to write 5 solo clarinet pieces using some of the tunes as well. I also read the "adelaide folk song book', which was mostly songs collected in the Catskills mountains in upstate NY. ((By read, I mean sight read, or sung)).

5. I've made a habit of collecting cheap asian inspired paintings. Some of them are on a velvet canvas. They're quite pretty.
