The town I work in is called Landmark expressly because it is the center of Canada east/west.

Still pretty close to the US border, but Winnipeg is the coldest major city in the world. Even above similar and slightly smaller cities in places like Siberia.

One day last winter they had a great headline in the paper.

They had the temp at the North Pole. And then they had the temp at the South Pole.

Not only was ours colder than both of them it was almost as cold as both of them COMBINED.

Yep, gets cold here.
