Fixed your story, too. That private insurers can get away with blowing off abused spouses (it happens to men, too, y'know... ) that would get elected officials pilloried is a prime example of what I mean when I say a government program would be accountable to consumers in a way no private one ever can be. We MAY need to offer patients more "help" than restricting causes and/or damages for which they can sue when a doctor maims them or kills a relative. Every time the GOP "helps" me it makes my rectum sore....
