Besides, eBay does say that by bidding, you agree to pay the price and make the transaction. So she was violating the terms of the agreement REGARDLESS. She does NOT have the ability to not follow through. She DOES have an obligation to make the payment. That's how it works. If this obligation did not exist, you could not effectively buy/sell on eBay.

The fellow does tred a fine line between justice and fraud, though...she could prosecute, and possibly even win depending on the circumstances.

It probably would have been safest to not make the car dealership reference so she didn't know wtf happened. She'd still guess, most likely, but she wouldn't likely have anything close enough to proof. Such a blatant dig is kind of self-evident.
