You can't be serious. Legolas Send a noteboard - 30/01/2011 03:07:18 PM
I have difficulty seeing a difference between locking up thousands of rebels on prison ships to starve to death while being horribly abused versus the Egyptian Dictator locking up thousands of rebels in prison to be horribly abused.

Much as you may try to make it seem similar for the purposes of your argument, the two really have very little in common. One is abuse of imprisoned enemy soldiers during a war fought on the other side of the ocean, with all the logistic and organizational problems that will inevitably entail, while the other is abuse of the country's own citizens in an effort to keep dissenters quiet. Yeah, they're similar in that both are bad, but if you're going to start equating all the bad things that ever happened without looking at context...

Though while we're on the topic of your argument, it isn't exactly clear to me what your argument even is. Are you really trying to support Joel's claim that they should've gone the "redress of grievances" way? Or are you merely quibbling over my comparative assessment of the Revolution?
