Everyone is tired of it. Or, at least that's what it seems like to me. I could be wrong.

When it's reduced to a hand full of people who've all been 'round the same issues together a dozen times familiarity breeds a LOT of contempt. With no new contributors and few enough of the old ones it very quickly degenerates into:

"You're a :censored:! "

"So's yer mother!"

Work each other into a lather, rinse, repeat. Granted we could all benefit from some of the old civility, and I've gotten at least as bad as any, but unfortunately I think it's a vicious circle.
