I use my smartphone:
1. To check e-mail when I'm not at my computer (with Microsoft Exchange, this means what I read on my iPhone is marked as "read" in my computer)
2. To find out the weather forecast
3. To check current currency exchange rates
4. To see if a flight is on time or delayed when meeting someone at the airport
5. To read the news when traveling
6. To look things up on the internet when traveling
7. To check commuter train schedules
8. To find the address or phone number or map location for restaurants
9. as a clock (or stopwatch)
10. as a camera
11. as a phone where new numbers and contacts are added automatically if they are in my Outlook Contacts
12. as a music player
13. for entertainment (games, etc.)

Political correctness is the pettiest form of casuistry.
