Problem is that hers doesn't shed right - Edit 1

to regulate her own temperature. I hate when people shave their huskies or chows thinking they will have a better time. It doesn't help them! And it's a pain in the ass to do.

First time I've ever heard the word groomist.... Sounds like some sort of point of view about grooming, but I'm not sure what it could be :p

Two years ago, she suffered greatly in 110 heat index with all that dead fur trapped until the next winter came, so I used scissors last year. However, it took a very long time, thus the clippers this year. The dog really suffers in this heat/humidity, otherwise I would have waited until October or so for her old coat to be shed. At 14, she likely would die from having a 2-3 inch coat in the summer, like she almost did in 2009.

As for "groomist," yeah, it's an odd (mis)word choice, now that I've looked back and seen what I had typed. Maybe I am philosophical about it all?
