why won't obama release the death certificate???

I'd be lying if I said I didn't expect those kinds of games, but it doesn't appear anyone's playing them at least for the moment (unless you count the Pakistani branch of Al Qaeda who insist it's a lie, but they did the same thing when their own leader was killed). Think of it like the famous Christmas Truce during the Great War; I'm sure fireeaters from both sides will be along to whip us into a partisan frenzy and send us at each others throats again soon enough, but until then let's just savor the moment, OK? :)

If so, fine, I just don't want to turn a big win for Americans--ALL of us--into a Republicans/Democrats scorecard, taint it by setting Americans against each other in a way that helps none but our foes. No offense, but I was frankly sick of that before Sunday night, which says something about the depths to which the sniping's sunk. I told another friend the other day that it must warm bin Ladens heart to see Americans accuse the man leading the fight against him of being his comrade in arms; that still applies to other Americans too busy fighting each other to fight terrorists. If you want a political spin, recall your disgust at the statement "you're either with us or the terrorists" and don't echo it now. For one brief shining moment we have a break from that suicidal insanity; even Bush and Boehner have had nothing but good to say about Obama putting a long awaited end to bin Ladens crimes. It's a welcome respite from the petty viciousness, and knowing it won't last long only increases my desire it last as long as possible. Which of us would be the one who releases our brothers hand to seize a rock and cast it at him?

So, yeah, if I'm taking things too seriously again, my bad; I do that, but, like I said, I don't want to lose sight of who "us and them" really is.
