Never had one myself, so can't help with practical advice, so I can only suggest you do your research first. And please don't go to pets at home for one, if their care/knowledge/origin of animal standards for reptiles are anything like for small furry creatures it's not great to say the least.

We'll need pictures if you get one though :D I love snakes. Couldn't have one myself, at least not one that ate rodents. I love my rats and I'd feel too bad feeding frozen mice/rats to another pet while spoiling my pet rats rotten. I accept snakes have to eat, just couldn't bring myself to.
