I do not see a minor, preventable and treatable infection as medical justification for permanent and irreparable body modification.




Just so you're clear on where I stand, I am not against circumcision all together, nor do I advocate banning it. If basic hygiene is not achievable in a region, I can see the justification. It's a personal decision for an individual family and there are some pros for circumcision, even if I feel they are insufficient. I'm not going to STOP anyone from circumcising their child. I just don't believe it is a medically justified procedure to cause permanent damage to prevent an easily managed, prevented and treated infection.
