1. What is your favorite summer food?
And you have to start with a tricky one.
I'd say fresh veggies. 
Other than that, I don't really change much.2. What is your favorite grilled meal?
Sole fish? Otherwise, a large piece of meat which can cook a long time?
3. What do you put on your hotdogs?
... fried onions? and if it is bad sausages, ketchup
3a. Burgers?
raw onions, lettuce, tomatoes, bacon, mustard/mayo, and from time to time, jalapeños.
4. What do you like to drink on hot days?
5. Do you live close to any Mom 'n' Pop type restaurants, or would you really have to go looking to find one?
if by mom 'n' pop you mean a small family run restaurant, then yes; I waste a lot of money there
5a. If yes, what if your favorite menu item?
well, they have over 80 different kinds of beer... about 30 of them are in the ales list.
But truth to tell, they change their menu about 6 times a year, so I don't really know about the current one; haven't tried it all
They made an excellent confit de canard, though. and last year's schweinehaxe mit der kartoffeln unt sauerkraut for oktoberfest was good too.
But I believe the best thing I ever ate there was their rum flavoured crème brûlée...
