I have read absolutely nothing about what you just wrote and have only a cursory knowledge about the current debt ceiling crisis. Its just that I think that these days, we could do with a bit less of the antagonistic headlines and rhetoric.

The sort of uninformed nonsense that you just typed is the problem today. Joel's thread title is not rhetoric; it's an accurate description of how the Republicans have been acting in this situation. Glossing over that just to be nice gives them credit that they don't deserve.
