First of all, just last fall Republicans demanded we keep Bushs decade old tax cuts for EVERYONE rather than removing them for people making >$250,000/year. In other words, REPUBLICANS extended tax cuts Democrats tried to remove, and the deficit was irrelevant then. Saying Dems extended the tax cuts is like saying Pearl Harbor attacked Japan. It also ignores the fact that every commentator on these debates says we're talking about closing loopholes, not raising actual tax rates.
call me cynical but I think the dems are just playing partisan politics.

You're accusing them of doing something you, me and the world well know Republicans did over their objections; THAT'S partisan politics.
